Poéme by Lancome c1995

Poéme by Lancôme: launched in 1995. Created by Jacques Cavallier.

Fragrance Composition:

So what does it smell like? It is classified as a rich floral-oriental fragrance for women. Press materials describe it as "A perfume full of contrasts. The Himalayan blue poppy with its almost frosted appearance, flower of the snows, its spirited, fusing note crossing swords with the bewitching, carnal aroma of the Datura flower, a flower of the sands. It gives it the dual personality: this gaiety and luminosity combined with an opulent sensuality. Accompanying this duo: yellow flowers (mimosa, jonquil, freesia, rose..). Combined with the white flowers of vanilla."
  • Top notes: Himalayan blue poppy, Calabrian mandarin, green notes, Calabrian bergamot, Japanese plum, Georgia peach, French narcissus, South African blackcurrant and Indian datura candida
  • Middle notes: Portuguese tuberose, leather, Comoros ylang ylang, Peruvian heliotrope, Tunisian orange blossom, Madagascar vanilla orchid, Australian mimosa, Dutch jonquil, South African freesia, Turkish rose, Egyptian jasmine and Dutch daffodil
  • Base notes: Moroccan orange blossom, Lebanon cedar, Mexican vanilla, South Seas ambergris, Venezuelan tonka bean and Tibetan musk
"Lancome's latest tribute to the mystique of woman comes in Poeme, a veritable sonnet of perfumed notes drawn from the Himalayan blue poppy, the datura desert flower, mimosa, jonquil, freesia, rose and vanilla. The result? A perfume that releases its seductive layers slowly. This was the first fragrance to use a very rare ingredient, the blue poppy, found only in the Himalayan mountains. Poeme also included another rarity, the datura, a desert dwelling flower."
