La Vie Est Belle by Lancome c2012

La Vie Est Belle by Lancome: launched in 2012. Created by Olivier Polge, Dominique Ropion and Anne Flipo. It took 5000 formulas and three years to get the composition just right.

From Lancome:
La vie est belle introduces a new olfactive story, the first ever iris gourmand. The juice is made with the most precious natural ingredients, a modern interpretation of an oriental fragrance with a twist of gourmand. It entwines the elegance of iris with the strength of Patchouli and the sweetness of a gourmand blend; for an incredible scent with depth and complexity. A sweet gourmand adds a burst of unexpected radiance.

Fragrance Composition:

So what does it smell like? It is classified as a Floral Fruity Gourmand fragrance for women.

  • Top notes: aldehydes, black currant and pear
  • Middle notes: iris, orange blossom and jasmine
  • Base notes: tonka bean, praline, patchouli and vanilla

Presented a modified version of the classic Lancome "Le sourire de cristal", the “Crystal Smile” bottle designed by George Delhomme in 1949.

From Lancome:
“Le sourire de cristal” (the crystal smile), a masterpiece of Lancôme heritage, was created in 1949 by the brand’s artistic director Georges Delhomme, as a tribute to the aura emanated by happy women - their irresistible je-ne-sais-quoi that goes beyond mere beauty. 63 years later, it takes on a whole new meaning with “La vie est belle”. It took over a year, 23 cutting trials, and the expertise of master glass blowers to square the circle and create the rounded imprint of a smile at the heart of a crystal square. The finishing touch of refinement: a pearlescent grey organza ribbon is tied around its neck, forming the twin wings of freedom.

Success is Spelled F-L-A-N-K-E-R:
