Fragrance Composition:

So what does it smell like? It was described as a "a spicy scent, but spiritual." Dark amber colored liquid.

• Top notes: Calabrian grapefruit, Sicilian lemon, Italian neroli, Calabrian tangerine, Sicilian bitter orange, Calabrian petitgrain
• Middle notes: Tunisian orange blossom, Egyptian jasmine, Provencal lavender
• Base notes: Mysore sandalwood, Spanish thyme, Dutch rosemary, Mexican oregano

Launched in 1938, Fêtes de Paris is a delicious refreshing men's cologne, which was sold until the mid 1940's. A handsome and huge bottle that could only fit into the hand of a man, this cologne symbolizes the beauty of the French perfume industry.

The 1945 Lancome perfume catalog describes it as:

"Bouquet aérien de fraîcheur, d'esprit Parisien et de fastueuses odeurs."

"An aerial bouquet of freshness, Parisian spirit and sumptuous odors."

The 1945 Lancome perfume catalog describes the bottle and presentation box:

"Flacon créée par Lancôme: fiole plat profilée par des accolades, à flancs légèrement bombés et sur pied oblong. Bouchon taillé et poli. Petite étiquette or et au centre, la nef de Paris en émail bleu, rouge et or. étui protection à la marque à la Rose de Lancôme-parfums. Cologne fine et sensuelle. Liquide de couleur ambre foncé." 

Flat flask profiled by braces, with slightly curved sides and on oblong foot. Stopper cut and polished. Small gold label and in the center, the nave of Paris in blue, red and gold enamel. Protective case marked with the Lancome-Parfums Rose. Cologne fine and sensual. Liquid of dark amber color.

The bottle was available in four sizes:

• 1 liter or 32 oz (Lancome catalog reference number 8285)
• 1/2 liter or 16 oz (Lancome catalog reference number 8284)
• 1/4 liter or 8 oz (Lancome catalog reference number 8283)
• 1/8 liter or 4 oz (Lancome catalog reference number 8282)
